The Las Canteras beach is an enormous stretch of golden sand in the heart of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. Used all year around thanks to the warm weather.

More than 3 km long, the beach is protected by a natural reef known as La Barra, which runs parallel to the shore and sheltering it from the waves of the Atlantic.

Along the coast is Paseo de Las Canteras, a busy boulevard with numerous shops, outdoor restaurants, cafeterias and bars, that runs the length of the beach; in the vicinity, the Alfredo Kraus Auditorium, by the La Cicer beach, practically a natural sports centre visited by most water sport enthusiasts, and La Puntilla, which houses the Real Club Victoria and its sailing club, the venue chosen for multiple sports and cultural activities. The promenade from here goes as far as theConfital beach; a practically untouched nature park that is well worth a visit.
